Who We Are
Aguko Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives and fostering sustainable development across underserved communities.
Established in 2015, the foundation operates with a mission to empower individuals and communities by addressing systemic challenges in education, health, economic empowerment, and climate initiatives.
We operate across Kenya, with no restriction to a specific region. Our programs have been implemented in Nairobi, Kisumu, Busia, Kiambu, Homa Bay, and Nyeri—reaching communities where support is needed most.
Our work is guided by values of inclusivity, integrity, collaboration, and innovation, ensuring impactful and lasting change.
Where We Began
The Aguko Foundation was established in honor of Alfred Aguko Omoro, a visionary leader dedicated to community service. Born in 1928, he played a pivotal role in disaster response, education, and infrastructure development in Kadibo, Kadibo—then encompassing Manyatta and Nyalenda—in Kisumu County.
Through his leadership, he mobilized resources from both the local community and government to support the construction of schools, roads, and flood mitigation systems, creating better opportunities for his people. In recognition of his contributions, the Kadibo community gifted him a Land Rover to aid his work.
Inspired by his legacy, his family launched community-driven initiatives in 2015 to assist families affected by floods. This effort evolved into a fully registered non-profit organization dedicated to Education, Health, Livelihoods, and Climate Initiatives. Today, the Aguko Foundation continues to empower vulnerable communities, upholding his vision of resilience and progress.
